Capped off by this year's 30th anniversary celebration in Cham, Anthropocene has become another memorable chapter in the band's long history. For nearly three decades, MARTYRIUM have carried the banner of blackened thrash metal through the Dutch underground. Unconcerned with trends and passing fashions, the band have remained committed to a sound built on aggression, speed and atmosphere.
"Malevolent" continues that path with confidence. Rooted firmly in black/thrash metal and sharpened by occasional death metal influences, the album delivers eleven tracks where controlled chaos meets total destruction. Every song serves the greater whole, resulting in a cohesive album that remains furious from beginning to end.
